Are you a passionate protein scientist with leadership experience? We're seeking a talented individual to join a leading Biotechnology Organisation in Cambridge.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead and manage a team, while also contributing to impactful drug discovery projects. You will play a pivotal role in advancing pipelines by overseeing protein production, purification, and analysis for structural and biophysical studies.

As a Team Leader Protein Sciences, you will be responsible for:

• Leading and managing a team of scientists, fostering innovation, and providing mentorship and training.
• Planning and executing protein production projects for structural or biophysical analysis.
• Developing and optimising protein expression and purification methods
• Analysing and interpreting data, presenting findings to key stakeholders through clear and concise communication (oral and written).

To be considered for the Team Leader Protein Sciences role you will need the following experience

• PhD (or BSc/MSc) in a relevant field, with experience in protein production and project management.
• Significant experience in drug discovery within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and presentation skills.
• Hands on expertise molecular biology and protein expression of proteins in different expression systems (bacterial, insect or mammalian expression).
• Proven ability to optimise protein expression and purification workflows, utilising techniques such as affinity, ion exchange, and size exclusion chromatography.
• A deep understating of a broad range of protein quality control techniques to ensure the integrity and functionality of the purified proteins.
• Experience in membrane protein production, membrane protein structural analysis (X–ray crystallography or CryoEM), and recombinant antibody production is a plus.
