Actively screening for 100% Remote role for Lab Medical Transcriptionist to join top Research Hospital in GA! Description: Responsible for providing transcription support to a large, fast paced and heavy volume pathology department with 6 different healthcare locations, and 24 hour turnaround for our clients. Qualifications Six (6) months prior transcription or secretarial experience. Must have excellent knowledge of medical terminology, English grammar, composition, and spelling. Must have word processing experience, and ability to type sixty (60) words per minute Education – High School Diploma Patient Demographics: Checking to ensure that patient's name is correct. Checking to ensure that the part types are correct and there are no discrepancies. Notifying Histology personnel/Pathologist's Assistants/Pathologists regarding correction of any name/part–type discrepancies. Transcribing of reports: Transcription work related to pathology reports (both gross and microscopic description) to include: Gross description dictated by Pathologists Assistants or Pathologists on surgical reports, autopsies, cytologies, placentas, and bone marrow reports. Typing and expediting frozen section/touch prep gross dictations/frozen section/touch prep diagnoses dictated by Pathologists Muscle and kidney biopsies dictated by Pathologists Assistants or Pathologists Additional Skills & Qualifications: Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Completes transcription duties in a timely manner and produces the necessary quantity of work required. Produces high quality pathology reports.
