As a Shift Quality Lead you will be required to ensure that the finished products comply with all product quality and safety requirements as per the customers specification, ensuring all legal requirements are adhered to. You will be required to carry out specific checks in accordance with written standards, ensuring all records and documentaion is completed accuratley, in full on time.

You will be required to work collaboratively with the production team and the production Leads to ensure all controls and allergen risks are adhered to, highlighting any risks immediately, working together to ensure an action plan for mitigation.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Completion of Process audits against the company standards & procedures.
  • Audit organoleptic tests on finished product against QAS documents.
  • Complete all relevant documentation accurately, in full and in a timely manner.
  • Conduct rapid Gluten and/or Milk swabs on the production line & equipment as part of the line clearance procedures for Gluten and/or Milk free production.
  • Collect all samples required for Gluten/Milk & microbiological testing, Taste Panels and Retained samples.
  • Log samples for Gluten/Milk testing on the Synlab Registration system ready for 8am collection.
  • Deal with Non–Conforming product to prevent its release in accordance with procedure (NFF29)
  • Conduct daily temperature checks on fridges.
  • Conduct monthly verifications of temperature probes.
  • Carry out environmental swabbing and water testing as required.
  • Ensure handover procedure is followed with incoming/outgoing QA operatives by being at the QA Station 10 minutes prior to start of shift.
  • Maintain the set hygiene standards and ensure clean as you go procedure is followed at all times.
  • Follow traceability procedures – ensure all Raw Materials, Packaging, Work in Progress and Finished product are identified/labelled at all times.
  • Follow allergen controls and all other company procedures accurately.
  • Follow manual handling guidelines and safe systems of work at all times.
  • Ensure correct PPE is worn at all times.
  • Completion of Paperwork/Red Pen audits.
  • Completion of monthly Glass Hard / Plastic Audits and raise any corrective actions.
  • Completion of GMP audits against the audit schedule.
  • Intake checks of new key materials (Raw & Packaging).
  • Complete and successfully pass Internal Audit on–line course.
  • Conduct Internal Systems Audits and identify any Non–Conformances

Skills, training or special knowledge

  • Good verbal and written English communication
  • Accurate numeracy skills
  • Level 2 Food Safety (provided by Business)
  • Flexibility to be trained in all required areas of the role
