Laboratory Manager – Pharmaceuticals Kinsale, County Cork, Ireland Competitive Salary + Bonus + Relocation + medical/health insurance + Pension Do you have leadership experience from a Pharmaceutical QC testing laboratory? Would you like to lead the the day–to–day operations of a laboratory analytical team? My client is a large multi–national pharmaceutical organisation with sites throughout the world, they operate GMP analytical laboratories with make use of modern working practices and instrumentation. Due to ongoing expansion they are looking to hire a Laboratory Manager – Pharmaceuticals to join their team based in Kinsale, Cork. The primary purpose of this role is to manage and co–ordinate a team and their leaders to ensure that they are operating at the highest quality and productivity standards, that they have high levels of morale and retention, and the agreed client requirements are entirely satisfied. This person will be the key point of contact for the client from a management point of view. This role collaborates with senior leadership on the development of strategies to enhance the business, achieve our objectives and participates in overall decision making as a member of the senior leadership team. Key Responsibilities of the Laboratory Manager – Pharmaceuticals; Manage several teams of scientists providing technical oversight, leadership, and mentoring to staff when necessary Work with cross–functional teams to manage critical, high priority projects and improve visibility and communication of upcoming work Reviewing and improving commercial work practices. Responsible for identifying areas where efficiencies may be improved and liaising with the client appropriately about any proposed improvements. Develop and provide long term strategic plans for continuity of service to ensure superlative service to client Ensure Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) associated with analytical and microbiological testing are regularly met and shared with both Senior Management and other Stakeholders. Ensure coverage, performance, and adherence to these metrics Responsible for financial goals as defined by the budgetary process. Schedule and train employees in the client environment Lead face–to–face interviews with external candidates to fill open positions Ensure adherence to highest quality and efficiency standards in laboratory operations Develop other leaders and foster morale and teamwork Required Skills, Qualifications and Experience; Considerable, relevant technical experience in pharmaceutical testing, from within a GMP facility. Excellent leadership skills and previous management experience.
