Our client, a Fresh and Processed Produce manufacturer is looking for a Technical Manager for their site based in Norfolk. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of Food Safety, leading audits and driving continuous improvement. Reporting to the Head of Technical, responsibilities for the role will include: Leading internal and external audits including visits by Customers, Suppliers and other third parties Building working relationships both internally and with customers as the Technical Lead Contact Setting and implementing the Food Safety and Quality standards for all products to meet BRC and Customer requirements Actively managing any potential Food Safety and microbiological issues, implementing corrective and preventative measures Management of customer complaint investigations and responses Managing the HACCP reviews, team meetings and implementation of HACCP Reviewing specification, pack copy information and artwork Maintenance and updating of factory floor documentation information including document control Maintaining contracted services (e.g. Laundry, Chemical and Laboratory) Setting the Technical budget and controlling spend within budget guidelines Actively promoting a positive Health and Safety Culture and ensuring adherence to all Health and Safety Requirements Line Management of the Quality Control team including recruitment, performance monitoring and staff training Essential / Desirable skills include: Experience in a similar Technical / Quality role within Food Manufacturing Ideally, a Food Science Degree or similar Qualification Experienced with BRC and Major Retailer requirements Internal Auditor trained (Lead Auditor preferred) Working knowledge of Microbiology HACCP Level 3 and Food Hygiene Level 3 Excellent communicator, working cross functionally Ability to prioritise and manage workload The Company: Recognised as one of the leaders in their field Long established, family–run organisation Successful team recognised for quality, reliability and flexibility The working hours are Monday Friday, office hours with flexibility to meet the needs of the business The salary for the role is up to GBP45k per annum + benefits.
